Hash Brown Poutine
Simply Potatoes® Special Cut Hash Browns #30001 | Yield: 4
Simply Potatoes® Special Cut Hash Browns #30001 11 oz.
unsalted butter 1 Tbs.
all-purpose flour 2 Tbs.
beef stock 1 cup
fresh parsley, chopped 1 tsp.
garlic, minced 1/4 tsp.
fresh thyme leaves, chopped 1/2 tsp.
sea salt to taste
ground black pepper to taste
vegetable oil 3 Tbs.
fried cheese curds 3 oz.
Great as a sharable appetizer or late-night snack.
Use any Simply Potatoes® shred variety with this recipe.
In small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in flour. Cook, stirring constantly, 5 minutes, or until thickened.
Gradually whisk in beef stock. Add parsley, garlic and thyme. Stir and simmer 5 minutes.
Season to taste with salt and pepper. Reserve gravy.
In large nonstick saute pan over medium-high heat, heat oil. Add hash browns. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Cook 7 minutes on each side, or until browned.
Top hash browns with cheese curds. Pour beef gravy over cheese curds and serve immediately.
